another lazy summer day....

It's 2:15 in the afternoon, and we're still in our pj's. The girls are coloring pictures in their room--- no drama, no fights, nothin'. The dogs are even laying around and not causing any trouble.

I'm sure it won't last, but ahhhhhhhh.....

Shots! OUCH!

Today was immunization day for Gracie. She needed her final set of shots before starting kindergarten. It was a trauma because she had to get FIVE shots! Wait a minute, that almost sounded like it would have been less of a trauma if she had gotten only one shot. It still would have been a royal fiasco. But I'm proud of her. She didn't cry too hard for too long, and she ended up getting prizes out of the deal. ;-)

Now if we can just get that loose tooth pulled........

The pool--- part quatre

This is IT! The pool has been taken down and set up FOUR TIMES now, and I'm done. Done, I tell you!!!! This beast is staying where it is until the end of summer. I don't care if there are fuzzy things growing in there---- it's staying put!

And I promise that these are the last pool pictures!!!! ;-)

Our new pool----- week three

I HATE POOLS!!!!!!!



After week 1 we drained the pool and set it up elsewhere. We still have the barren spot in our yard where it sat. It lasted 2 weeks in it's new position until it got so disgusting that I wouldn't let anyone actually touch the water. We faithfully ran the little pump with the chlorine, make sure the bugs were strained out, and covered it up at night. Where did we go wrong? What do people with real pools do??? Uggghhhh!!!!

Tomorrow, I am going to attempt to clean it with bleach and set it up for round three. I have no doubt that we're going to have little crop circles all over our yard before the end of summer. Thank goodness this thing is only 2.5' deep. Otherwise, our water bill would be astronomical.

Did I mention that I hate pools?!?!?!?!

skin color--- or lack thereof

All I ever really wanted in life was to have a tan--- a real tan. I don't want one with blistering, peeling, sweating, or even orangy tan-in-a-bottle lotion. I want a real-life, honest-to-goodness tan. It has never and will never happen. I'm pasty, or as my mother calls it, "pukey milky white". So why, I ask you, do both of my daughters have the color of skin that I've always wanted? It is some sort of punishment for me being envious of tanned people for all of these years? I guess so. :-( My girls will even make comments such as this--- "I'm sorry you're so white, Mama".
