The Tooth Fairy is going broke!

Look at that! THREE teeth are now gone from Gracie's bottom row of teeth. She has another loose tooth on the bottom and both top front teeth are loose. The Tooth Fairy is going broke and Gracie is destined to eat only mashed potatoes for a while. ;-)

last post for the day.... I promise!

I HAD to add this video from our evening at Chuck E Cheese--- well, because it's just too danged funny listening to Grammie talk about my dancing machine (aka Grace). We're such white trash! ha ha ha

Sophie's birthday party!

Sophie had LOTS of fun at Chuck E Cheese tonight. We're exhausted, but here are some pics of the big event--- and even a video. :-)

Yeah, Sophie is a little bit flexible. ;-)

Sophie summing up her evening at Chuck E. Look closely right about the time I say, "Look at Mama" and you will see Po giving me her 'evil eye'. God help us when she is a teenager. ;-)

Happy birthday Sophie!!!!

My has time flown! My sweet Sophia Rae Warinthorn is 6 years old today!!!!! It seems like only yesterday Fred & I were packing our bags to fly to Bangkok to bring her home. I always knew she was my baby--- we just had to find her.

Sophie's referral picture. Wasn't she a sweetie?

--and this is the first time we met in Phayathai Babies Home. I switched from grinning to crying the entire time we were in Thailand. What an emotional wreck I was! The lady in the blue shirt is a friend of my Aunt Laddawan. She was SO helpful to us when we were in Bangkok. Can you believe that she (Pattra) is about 75 years old? Enlarge this pic and look closely. She looks like she's in her 40's. Gorgeous!

--and here is daddy, Sopie, and her beloved doorman. We seldom let her down long enough to walk , but she would RUN to this guy at every opportunity. I think he kinda liked her too. ;-)

This evening we're heading to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate her birthday as an official 6 year old.

"Snapper" the turtle

You'll need to turn the music off at the bottom of the blog to hear the video.

I'm not exactly sure how much of that explanation you could understand (there might be speech therapy in our future ), but Gracie discovered "Snapper" the box turtle in our yard this afternoon. She names every animal that wanders into our yard. For some reason she felt the need to poke him with a stick, though. ;-)

P.S. Sophie's loud laugh in the middle of the video just kills me. ;-)

The *almost* birthday girl

Sophie's birthday is tomorrow, so she got to celebrate it a day early at school today. She had a grand ole time!!! She brought treats for her classmates and even wore a crown all day today.

Here is Sophie and her teacher, Mrs. Huebner, on the "birthday spankin" chair. Sophie got 6 swats from her teacher. ;-)

I'm not sure what was going on here, but they all look pretty danged happy. That's Aunt Cyndee in the background taking pics for me.

Tomorrow we're celebrating the official birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. Wish me luck!

Gracie also lost another tooth today----- it was NOT fun pulling it. She screamed like a wild beast, but it was just hanging there. I'm not even sure that she knew I pulled it since she was so busy going crazy. ;-) I'll post pictures soon.

You likie?

Well? You likie? I found a new blog layout and spent HOURS trying to upload it onto my blog. I *think* I like it better than my old version. It's a little less "busy". Hmmmmmmm......

My sick girl....

Sophie is sick. Miserably sick. Fever. Headache. And she even puked. All over MY bed. She made it through two whole days of school before she caught the first of the germy yuckiness that floats around school. Poor kid. I'm hoping that she'll feel better by Monday and that Gracie doesn't catch it as well.

KINDERGARTEN!!!!

The girls started kindergarten yesterday, and they LOVED it!!!!!!! I was a wreck, but they didn't seem to have any worries at all. I guess it's nice to have your sissy with you in the same class.

They talked nonstop about school all evening last night and were even delighted with the school lunch. Chicken nuggets, carrots, and a roll had never tasted better to them. That is definitely excitement. ;-)

They had a dot-to-dot worksheet to do as soon as they found their table. Both of the girls were so happy about that. :-)

Notice that their teacher put them back to back rather than at the same table. She's a wise one, that Mrs. Heubner. ;-)

And luckily Aunt Cyndee teaches at their school so I even got pics of them on the playground. Somehow we must have forgotten to tell them not to climb the highest jungle gym in dresses.

Today I picked out comfy clothes for them to wear to school---- shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes. Sophie informed me that "she would rather be uncomfortable than ugly". Ummm, okay. What is my life going to be like when that kid is 16?!?!?!?!?!?

Happy days.

Oh, and by the way, Grace now has 5 (yes 5) loose teeth!

Guess who is coming to our house?!?!?!?

Yep, it's the Tooth Fairy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gracie lost her first tooth ever today at Grammy's house. We had been wiggling it for weeks, so naturally she lost it the first day I had to go back to school. :-( Oh well, at least it's out and the Tooth Fairy will be sneaking into our house tonight.

Sophie has been terribly jealous and has cried for hours. Sheesh!

A new contest!

Have I ever mentioned that I'm probably the most unlucky person on earth? Having said that, I'm a glutton for punishment and I'm constantly entering online raffles. ;-) This time (again) it's from the awesome blog designer, "the design girl". She is giving away TONS of prizes during the month of August, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll win!!!!! My goal is to win one of her blog design makeovers. This week she is featuring her pre-made templates, and they're pretty danged awesome too. Wish me luck!

P.S. We're back home from Branson. Had a GREAT time, bought lots of school clothes, and we're pooped! Silver Dollar City was fun but HOT.

One last hurrah!

Remember the Beverly Hillbillies' old stompin' ground, Silver Dollar City? Well, that's where we're going tomorrow!!!!! (poor dad has to stay home) It isn't all glass-blowin', taffy-pullin', hillbilly-talkin' fun--- well, there's plenty of that but there are also all sorts of rides, shows, and crafts. Good times! ;-) I haven't been to Silver Dollar City in several years, so I'm really looking forward to it. Here is a little glass-blowin' for your viewing pleasure.....

Branson, MO is also the home to loads of outlet malls. Bonus! We'll be shopping till we drop, and then school starts again for me on Monday, and the girls' first day of kindergarten is on the 13th.

It makes me so sad that my babies are starting school, although I'm not getting any younger so I guess I should be happy. Sigh.....

Then

Now

Sob.

I'm a teacher so I totally 'get' supply lists, but I simply don't understand kindergarten supply lists (can you tell I teach older kids?). Anyway, I'm supposed to buy 2 boxes of 8 crayons. That makes no sense to me. Why can't I just buy 1 box of 16??? And no pencil box---I'm supposed to get a 6 x 9.5" pencil pouch. What? Germ-X hand sanitizer is also on the list. Doesn't anybody simply wash their hands with soap and water anymore? Ah, the perils of school supply shopping. ;-)
