First day of 1st grade

 

The girls had their first day back at school yesterday, and I think that in every single picture I took they were giving me the 1st grade sign with their fingers.  ;-)  The LOVED school yesterday but still somehow managed to have an overabundance of energy last night.  How does that happen?  I was exhausted.

Happy Birthday Sophie!!!!!

Sophie celebrated her 7th birthday on Sunday.  It's hard to imagine that my baby is already this old!  It seems like just yesterday that I was filling bottles, changing diapers, and cleaning high chairs.  Whew-- I'm glad those days are over.  ;-)  

Sophie had a fantastic birthday party at Grammy's house.  Here are a few of the pages I made for her scrapbook.

There's No Place Like Home!

We're home from our little mini vacation to Branson. I'm exhausted! It was HOT. Miserably hot! The heat index was 105 degrees today. HOT! The girls rode the rides, and loved every minute of it.





--but the heat even got to them! This thing was a cool ball that you could move with your hands and had water running over over it. I have absolutely no idea if it supposed to be something specific or if it was just a cool ball, but a little splashing fun helped the girls cool off.


Did I mention it was HOT? I'm glad to be home. ;-)

Branson Bound!

Just like Paris Hilton The Beverly Hillbillies, we're Branson bound tomorrow. Silver Dollar City here we come!!!! Of course we picked one of the hottest days of the year to spend hours and hours walking outside. But hey, we're tough people, aren't we?


If I come home smoking a corn cob pipe or dressed in a long prairie dress, please feel free to shoot me---- not that this lady isn't lovely, but I just wasn't meant to don that attire. ;-)

My latest purchase!

It's my new life motto, and I love it!!!! I found it at etsy through Kristen's Custom Creations shop. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be as perfect in person as it looks on the website.

Our weird conversations....

It has been 100+ degrees here the past week. Hot. Miserably hot. Here is a little snippet of a conversation the girls and I had the other day about the heat:

Me: "Dang, it's gonna be a hot one today."

Sophie (who has a smidge of a redneck twang in her speech): "Yeah, Jesus sure is torturing us today."

Grace (yelling): "Jesus heard that!!!!"

Sometimes all I can do is shake my head at the life I lead. ;-)

I heart scrapbooking!

The girls' new scrapbook albums came in the mail, and I love them. Gracie's is purple (of course) and Sophie's is pink (of course)!



And here is my latest page. I did this layout without any template. Woo hoo for me! ;-) But don't be too impressed. I didn't think up the whole thing---- I found the layout idea from the book, "lifted", by Michelle Meisenbach.


P.S. I STILL have itchy bumps on my neck from that stinkin' caterpillar!
